This boy = blue and girl = pink, is a coding that's being imported in india as well..
well i do put on a lot of pink on my boy..but really can't help it when neutral pink shirts come with 'princess' written on them.. :(
why can't there be a charming prince in bubblegum pink and a dainty princess in electric blue? Just a case of stereotyping, in my opinion, brought in by manufacturers' to make their job easier.. ;)
